We understand that in EA Sports FC 24, everyone is constantly seeking the most effective tactics. To provide some insight, we asked FUTWIZ Pro Ethan for his recommendations. Here is what he had to say.

The tactics he’ll be talking about in this video are used mostly for scenarios when you’re desperate for a goal.

Here are the tactics, along with a brief explanation of why he recommends them. Additionally, there will be an overview of the types of players you should consider for each position.

Defence
  • Defensive Style: Constant Pressure
  • Width: 45
  • Depth: 60

Offense
  • Build Up Play: Balanced
  • Chance Creation: Direct Passing
  • Width: 50
  • Players in the Box: 6
  • Corners: 2
  • Free Kicks: 2

More about these tactics. Ethan doesn’t recommend your team to press up really far up the pitch during constant pressure this year, hence why he recommends 60 depth “only”. It’s very easy to hold the ball in the middle of the pitch, so having 60 depth allows you not to press TOO high up the pitch.

Attacking instructions aren’t important, because as soon as you get the ball back – it doesn’t matter. Just try to go and play end-to-end.

Ethan recommends using 4-2-4 formation for this set-up as it’s the most attacking one and that’s exactly what you need to do, when there’s nothing to lose.

Player Instructions
These are the player instructions which Ethan recommends:

  • GK - Default
  • CB - Default
  • LB – Balanced, Overlap
  • RB – Balanced, Overlap
  • LCM – Balanced Attack, Cover Center
  • RCM – Balanced Attack, Cover Center
  • LW – Stay Forward, Get in Behind
  • RW - Stay Forward, Get in Behind
  • LST – Stay Forward
  • RST - Stay Forward

A short explanation as to the reasons behind these instructions is as follows:

Main difference in these tactics to your usual ones – no “stay at the back while attacking” on your RB and LB. They are being used on Overlap to push forward and pressure an opponent, as there’s nothing much to lose here. We want everyone on up the pitch.

Both CMs are on Balanced attack and Cover Center. This way they are not TOO far forward, but still should be enough to defend midfield a little bit.

All your front 4 in these tactics are on Stay Forward, so they’ll always be high up on the pitch. 2 Wingers are being used on “Get in Behind” to push the opponent's defenders as much as possible. 2 strikers are both being used on Stay Forward to push the game into the opponent's box.

Again, Ethan recommends this setup for a situation where you're a goal or two down and you want to get some result back, it's a very aggressive set up and be careful, while using it!
