How to do the Drag Back Turn

The drag back turn on EA FC 24 is one of the better skills to use in game, plus it’s one of the simplest skills in game. It’s one of the most effective skills on the edge of the box. FUTWIZ pro player Ethan is going to take us through how to perform the skill and the best times to use it.

Let's learn the basics and the button combination to perform this skill. In this example we will be showing you how to drag back turn on EAFC 24 in different situations and directions.

To start the skill you need to hold R1+L1\RB+LB buttons together, while your player is standing still, and then flick the stick backwards – your player will perform drag back.

The best way to practice this skill is by heading into the Arena and removing the AI defenders so you can get comfortable learning the ball roll scoop.

It's a very simple, but effective skill. After you master it in the arena, it’s time to use it in-game. Best way to use it, right around the opponent's box, while you’re moving and opponent tracks you, so you want to change the directions as fast as possible.

As you can see here, the opponent prepares to tackle your player and you’d have to shoot. But a drag back turn will allow you to change direction and leave your opponent chasing dust and you’ll have a free shot at goal.

It’s very simple, but yet an effective skill move. It’s also different to other skills, as other skills are really quick, rapid, but drag back kind of confuses people and gives you a little bit of space to get the chance and have a shot at goal. Ethan thinks it’s very effective this year.

Another example of the effectiveness of this skill move. With this simple skill move you can change your attacker’s preferred foot and shoot from their stronger foot with a higher chance of scoring.

Here you can see how utilizes it and scores with stronger feet of R9, as it also gives him a bit more space, before getting closed by 2 defenders.

This skill is easy and effective. Something you should definitely be looking to add to your game if you are looking to improve your results. After becoming comfortable with the button combinations it will become basic muscle memory to use this skill in the right positions on the pitch.
