Well, it's Christmas Eve and I hope you're all having a lovely time with famalam. However, there is a more pressing matter at hand; WHO will the attackers be in this year's Team of the Year?! Let's find out...

FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala: Monday 12th January 2015

This TOTY prediction has been released in stages and links to article containing both the defender and midfielder predictions will be down at the bottom of this article. Today we'll be choosing our the front 3, the pièce de résistance of the TOTY! Individual and team achievements for both club and country and statistics have been considered when selecting these players, as well as my personal opinion.

Enjoy folks, remember to let us know what you think of my choices in the comments and have a wonderful Christmas! <3

RW: Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich/The Netherlands) - We begin at Bayern. Again. *sigh*. Arjen was kicker's highest rated Bundesliga player for the 2013/14 season and is currently the leading the way for the 2014/15 season too; he's also the Bundesliga's 2nd top scorer, with 10 goals from 13 appearances. Not only has he had an outstanding 2014 for his club, he was also one of the players of the World Cup. Sergio Ramos was embarrassed time and time again by Robben during that famous 5-1 thrashing of Spain by the Dutch, however he also embarrassed a number of other defenders during that World Cup in Brazil... as well as himself, it has to be said. Mexico will never forgive you, Arjen.

LW: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid/Portugal) - The best calendar year of his career? I'd say so. 38 goals in 28 La Liga appearances speaks for itself. He also ended the year with four pieces of silverware, the Copa del Rey, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and, most recently, the FIFA Club World Cup. He may not have had the best of World Cups, but especially after an incredible start to the 2014/15 season, he's my favourite to win the Ballon d'Or.

CF: Lionel Messi (Barcelona/Argentina) - 2014 may have been a slightly disappointing year by his standards, and it may have been trophyless, however it's by no means been poor. On paper, he's had a similar year to Ronaldo. However, as Barcelona in the 2013/14 season were in such a mess, Leo's efforts were in vain. This season he's formed a good partnership with Neymar, however stopping Real Madrid is going to take something very impressive and I can also see Real going on to win another La Liga title. Still, in terms of individual, Messi would be in this team. No questions asked.

Other possibilities: Gareth Bale (Real Madrid/Wales), Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid/Chelsea/Spain), Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich/Germany), Neymar (Barcelona/Brazil)
