Hello and welcome to La Liga Player of the Month Predictions for October. It’s already the end of the month by La Liga standards and I’m doing it in advance. I’ll win this time. Yes, it’s been only 2 games of the month, but we can already tell the favourites for the award.
2 Previous months were won by Barca players: Raphinha and Yamal. This month won’t be an exception and it’ll be Lewandowski, who takes an award, if not for some miracle. Lewandowski continues his magical form and he already scored 12 goals in La Liga. This month he scored 5 goals in 2 games: 3 against Alaves and 2 against Sevilla. It’s looking good for him under Flick and if he continues this way, we might see some really funny stats at the end of the season. If (when) he wins an award – he should be 90 rated card, as he has IF 89 rated. 90 rated Rush card worth around 800k, but his IF is only 50k. I expect his POTM to be around 150–200k, if he gets a very nice pace boost.
Other candidates are:
Alex Berenguer from Athletic Bilbao scored 1 goal and got 3 assists in 2 games. Yes, lost 1 out of those 2 games, but his performance shouldn’t go unnoticed. Berengue, if he wins, he should get either 84 or 86 rated cheap POTM with some decent stats, and he already has decent playstyles too. We’ll see, he can be hidden gem, if somehow Lewa won’t win POTM.
Next players all have only 2 contributions in 2 games, but trust me, that’s more than enough this month and with how EA doing POTMs too. First up is Vinicius Jr. Real won their game vs Celta and also won a game versus Villarreal. He scored in both games and was crucial for their pursuit of Barcelona. Next weekend El Classico will be very high stakes, because they are separated by only 3 points. If Vini wins an award – he’d be 91 rated card, that would worth a lot. He already has 91 IF, but I doubt EA will do 92 straight after. His IF is worth around 3 mill. I expect price of 2.2–2.5 for his POTM. He’s already one of the best cards in game and upgrade on it making it even more unfair.
Antoine Griezmann, my beloved French King, general of Simeone’s army, continues his good season with 1 goal in 3-1 win over Leganes and 1 assist in 1-1 draw vs Sociedad. Yeah, Atletico are 7 points behind leaders, but still should collect most of possible points. They had a tough schedule and I expect them to rise a bit close to top after the next few months. Griezmann just got his Rush card and it’s good, expensive, but his NIF is 76k. I don’t expect him to win POTM, but if he does – he’d for sure be cheaper than his Rush card, that is closer to 1 mill. 250k for his POTM would be great price and affordable for most people.
Mikel Oyarzabal is my last player on my list. Another player with 1 goal and 1 assist. 1 assist in a game vs Atletico Madrid and 1 goal in 1-0 win over Girona. Sociedad had a rough start to a season, but slowly rising back to the top. Oyarzabal continues to be the leader on the pitch. If he gets POTM, it’ll be cheap one. 84 or 86 rated card, with low 80 pace, but good shooting and dribbling. Can be decent CAM, if he gets that position, but not sure if it’ll be popular POTM. Price around 40k at max.
So yeah, at the end I can see only Lewa winning it, unless they’ll put more Barca players in the voting, so votes will split. Lewa would be great POTM and he’s usable in FUT this season, so why not to complete him, if you rock with La Liga players and\or Barca POTMs.
