In the mid-80s, Ian Rush continued to spearhead Liverpool’s attack alongside Kenny Dalglish. Renowned for his predatory instincts in front of goal, Rush was also praised for his high work rate off the ball. In 1986, Rush secured the double with Liverpool to lift the Division One and FA Cup trophies, the latter after beating Everton 3-1 in the final with Rush scoring a memorable brace. From 1985 to 1987, Rush was Liverpool’s top scorer including, for the second time in his career, 40 goals in one season.
