A player who regularly tries to beat an opponent by using technical dribbling ability (with little to no use of skill moves or little to no physical contact).
PlayStyle Effect
Reaches a higher speed when performing Controlled Sprint and performs wide turns while dribbling with more precision.
PlayStyle+ Effect
Reaches even higher speed when performing Controlled Sprint and performs wide turns while dribbling with greater precision.
How do you use this PlayStyle?
This PlayStyle does not require you to do anything specific to use it other than using Controlled Sprint with the ball, when you have a player who has this PlayStyle it becomes activated the moment you press the Controlled Sprint button (R1/RB). This essentially means that players reach a higher speed when performing Controlled Sprint and performs wide turns while dribbling with more precision.
What is the most effective way to use this PlayStyle?
The most effective way to use this PlayStyle is when you opponent is sitting off of you and giving you some space to manoeuvre in to. The Controlled Sprint is a good way to attack space in the attacking third whilst still keeping control over the ball.
When performing turns using this PlayStyle you will notice there is a significant improvement in the precision compared to players without.
Controlled Sprint is to be used when there isn’t room to sprint in to, however there is enough space which you can run at speed that is quicker than just left stick dribbling.
What are the Pros and Cons of this PlayStyle?
Pros
- The higher speed while performing Controlled Sprint allows you to break through defensive lines whilst still having close control of the ball.
- When using Controlled Sprint you are able to performs turns while dribbling with more precision.
Cons
- There are no real cons with this PlayStyle, simply be mindful that you will not be able to use Controlled Sprint to perform extremely tight turns, this will still need to be done using left stick dribbling.
