We’re starting one of the most exciting periods in FUT, sun comes out and stays longer every day, every football fan expecting nice run-in till the end of the season for their team and Ultimate Team brings us TOTS Cards.
Ligue 1 coming up as first TOTS wasn’t on my Bingo Card list, but here we’re are. Very obvious champions that should get the most TOTS too – PSG won it convincingly, earliest in Europe and they might even go unbeaten.
Then we have a big race for Top 4 between many clubs. Monaco and Marseille looked the best for the most part of the season, but then dropped off massively and Nice, Lyon, Strasbourg and Lille caught up to them and it’s actually undecided who would be in UCL next year. I’d like to see Lyon get that spot, because I think their project is very exciting as we’ve seen in Europa League.
Overall, Ligue 1 is the most “boring” one to predict, as we’ll get mostly PSG players, but let’s be fair and try to mention as many other players as possible.
We’re starting off with Goalkeeper and it was a tough decision for me between Geronimo Rulli from Marseille and Lucas Chevalier from Lille. I went with Chevalier, but both GKs can get in. Plus Lille conceded 2nd least in Ligue 1. Plus Chevalier has double amount of clean sheets compared to Rulli.
Defense should be easy to pick. We have the best RB and LB in the league in PSG squad, we should get both Hakimi and Mendes, especially Hakimi, as he’s got 4 goals and 6 assists for them in Ligue 1. At Central-Backs we have Pacho from PSG, who was very successful transfer for them and improved them massively and 2nd option is hard. Again, we go back to Lille and chose between Diakate and Alexsandro. Both were impressive, but I’d go with Alexsandro, as he was a bit higher rated but L’equipe. Diakate has an argument for contributions as he scored 4 more goals, but overall I doubt that it would matter.
In the midfield it gets exciting. We should get another PSG duo: Vitinha and Joao Neves. Vitinha had a great year, controlled games and was magnificent in Ligue 1. Neves probably best PSG’s buy of the last few years, he just came in and showed his class. Everyone knew that he can do it after last season at Benfica, but 11 goal contributions for him also approve this choice for TOTS. Speaking about other clubs – I have to mention Strasbourg and their very very strong season. Yeah, project started roughly, but after January they improved and risen up in the table. Their leader, captain is, hilariously, Chelsea loanee – Andrey Santos. 9 goals and 3 assists for him, very impressive season overall and he should get one fantastic TOTS card. Fan favorite Ryan Cherki also should get TOTS card. He became a leader of Lyon and should get a nice transfer in the summer (he just has to choose club correctly). 8 goals and 9 assists for Lyon’s leader. IF they’ll get into UCL – it’s mainly cause of him.
Then I have few choices that aren’t so locked in. First one should be a decider between Dilane Bakwa and Maghnes Akliouche. Both have similar stats: 4 goals and 8 assists, both play similar positions, but overall Akliouche is a bit more popular and overall Monaco in a better position. I’d go with Maghnes, but Bakwa really has a shot at some sort of Moments card. Next choice is between Adrien Rabiot and Lamine Camara. Last time I made a choice for Monaco player, this time my choice should be Marseille player. Funny, how it’s first Marseille TOTS in a prediction, even tho they are sitting 3rd in the table. Rabiot had a solid year with 6 goals and 2 assists to his name and overall great performances.
Last choice would be between strikers. We start with 2 locked players: Barcola and Dembele. Both of them carried in attack, before Doue became important and Khvicha transfer, both will be in undoubtedly. Then it’s becoming harder. Nice are around top, but I still haven’t chosen even 1 player from their team. I’ll fix it right now with a choice of Evann Guessand who got 11 goals and 7 assists for them and he’s carrying them for a European spot. Next up I should include Jonathan David, because he always gets TOTS, but he wasn’t as good here as before, but still decent season: 14 goals and 3 assists. And last choice should be Emanuel Emegha from Strasbourg. Young Dutch striker scored 13 goals and got 2 assists to his name and should be at least moments or objective card.
Let’s not forget Desire Doue, who’s on hype right now, but I’m not sure if he’ll get TOTS, but at least moments are possible with 5 goals and 6 assists.
Hard TOTS, not because of many choices, but because of the gap being so big between the best team and the rest. I could’ve included all PSG players and I wouldn’t be wrong (apart from striker), but that’s not fun. Overall, we should get some fantastic cards from Cherki and Andrey Santos, but I’m sure there will be some underrated gems.
