Hello and welcome to Bundesliga POTM predictions for December month. It wasn’t that big of a month, only few games here and there. Most inform team in Bundesliga at the moment is Bayer. Leverkusen are back to their best with 3 wins in December and 5 wins in a whole month vs juggernauts like Bayern in a cup and Inter in UCL.
Florian Wirtz would be my obvious choice from Bayer. He scored in every game and assisted Schick 3 times in 5-1 win. 3 goals and 3 assists should be enough for his first POTM this season. He’s currently running for TOTY and you should vote for him, by the way. Wirtz scored 1 goal in 2-1 win over St. Pauli, scored 1 goal in 2-0 win over Augsburg and got 1 goal and 3 assists vs Freiburg. So yeah, if he wins, he should be at least 90 rated card, same as his promo card, but 91 would fit more. He just got 2 91 rated cards, so I doubt that they would give him 91 rated POTM. Don’t expect him to be pricey, as his cards are cheap. Around 50k for his POTM imo.
Fair to mention Bremen with 3 wins this month in 3 games. Risen from 2nd part of the table to 7th place and Jens Stage was crucial for those results. He scored 2 goals and got an assist in those games. 1 goal in 1-0 win over Bochum, 1 assist in 2-0 win over St. Pauli and 1 goal in 4-1 win over Union Berlin. Stage having very good season, already got an IF and overall managed to get 7 goals already in 11 games. Stage would be decent 86 POTM, that wouldn’t worth a lot, like 25-30k for him is a fair price.
Mainz had a fantastic month with 3 wins and 1 loss in 4 games. One of those wins was vs Bayern Munich and overall they are sitting at 5th spot. There are 3 players that deserve to be mentioned. All of them had a good month and I’m not sure who would be nominated out of 3, but most likely 2 players. One of them is Jae-sung Lee: 1 assist in 2-0 win vs Hoffenheim, 1 assist in 4-3 loss vs Wolfsburg and 2 goals vs Bayern in 2-1 win. Jonathan Burkardt was sensational too: 2 goals vs Hoffenheim in 2-0 win, 1 goal and 1 assist in 4-3 loss vs Wolfsburg. Got injured in a game vs Bayern but still had 3 goals and 1 assist in 3 games. And last player would be Paul Nebel: 2 goals in 4-3 loss vs Wolfsburg and 2 goals in 3-1 win over Frankfurt. As you can see all of them performed well, results were good and opponents were tough. Burkardt and Lee already had IFs, 81 and 83 rated ones, Nebel missed out. But if any of them would get POTM – all would be 86 rated ones and would worth around 20k at max I think.
Fair to mention Borussia Monchengladbach that managed to climb to 8th place with 2 wins and 1 draw this month. Alassaine Plea lead their way to those results with 3 goals in 3 games. 2 out of those 3 goals were vs Holstein Kiel and 1 goal was vs Hoffenheim. Plea playing well and overall Monchengladbach have a very fun and interesting team. Plea haven’t had any special cards this season and this potential POTM would be his first one, still 86 rated card with around 20k pricing.
Last but not least. Bayer, despite their loss to Mainz, had a good month. 4-2 win over Heidenheim, 5-1 smashing of Leipzig and that loss to Mainz. There are 2 main candidates who played fantastically over 2 out of 3 games: Jamal Musiala and Josh Kimmich. Both had great performances. Musiala had 2 goals vs Heidenheim and 1 goal and 1 assist vs Leipzig, while Kimmich was named MOTM in 4-2 win with 1 assist and had a goal and assist vs Leipzig. Musiala should be nominated, but I expect Kimmich to be mentioned too. Musiala would be 89 rated POTM that would worth around 100k, he’d have some really nice stats, but overall card would be very similar to Wirtz one. Kimmich would be 88 or 89 too with some great stats for CDM and would worth around 80k, imo (if they won’t upgrade his Pace).
Overall, I think Wirtz is above everybody wtih 3 goals and 3 assists, but there were a lot of great performances in December in Bundesliga.
