EAFC 25: Team of the Season Predictions - Premier League

We’re starting one of the most exciting periods in FUT, sun comes out and stays longer every day, every football fan expecting nice run-in till the end of the season for their team and Ultimate Team brings us TOTS Cards.

We’re starting this cycle with the most hyped league in the world – Premier League. We should cover all 5 leagues, and maybe more, but let’s do this.

Premier League season like never before? Picking TOTS was insanely hard this time, because a lot of teams played at very good level and exceeded expectations and some teams played under their usual level (I’m looking at you, Spurs and Manchester United). Overall, every position bar few is debatable.

We’re starting with goalkeeper and already it’s debatable position. I had 3 candidates: Raya, Sels and Alisson. Everyone had their highs and lows. I decided against Ali, as he was injured for around 10 games and that’s why his statistics are a bit inflated. So yeah, between Sels and Raya. Of course, more logical choice, if we get fan-voting – would be Raya. Great performances, great stats and not so many mistakes. Feels like Arsenal’s structure helps him a lot, but whatever. Sels had a bit more clean sheets at the moment I’m writing this up and overall, Forest structure in defense helps too. I think Forest season deserves a lot of recognition and Sels should be in.

Right-back. I think this is the weakest position and pick in a team. I honestly couldn’t find many choices. I went through every team and every team and still. I feel like, again, it’s a choice between Aina and Timber. Timber played everywhere in Arsenal’s defense, but mostly was RB. Aina is just one of those “unexpected heroes” of the season. No one expected Aina to be up there among the best RBs in the season. Good defending, good attacking performances, he had it all. There’s an outside chance for TAA sneaking in, but feels like he shouldn’t be in for some performances he put on in Liverpool shirt (I’m looking at you, game against Manchester United). Overall, TAA improved a lot in defense under new manager, but attacking numbers decreased, which is expected due to change of structure.

At least, next positions will be undeniable. At the center of defense I have Virgil Van Dijk and Gabriel. I think those 2 are the best CBs in the league this season. Saliba up there, maybe 3rd, but I think Gabriel had just a better season. Plus his goals were crucial. I think Saliba might be on the bench alongside Milenkovic from Forest. Another Forest defensive player, but their record is just too good to pass up on. I think there are 5 candidates for CBs: VVD, Konate, Gabriel, Saliba and Milenkovic. All of them might get some sort of card and I won’t say it’s undeserved.

Left-Back. Another hard position. 3 choices for 1 spot: Kerkez, Cucurella and Robinson. All of them can be in due to different reasons. Kerkez – breakthrough year, a lot of highlights this season, assists, even sometimes goals. Very Andy Robertson type of a player. Cucurella – very strong start of the season, especially after great EUROs, some mid performances with Chelsea’s drop of form, and then another great run of form with goals and great defensive performances. Robinson should be main player, Fulham had a good season and Robinson top 3 in assists chart. Robinson probably most deserving one, but I can see other 2 get in.

We moving on to Midfielders. 2 choices were very easy: Gravenberch and Rice. Gravenberch improved so much under Slot and at least until March haven’t had a bad performance. He got ran into a ground a bit, but still have had an amazing season at that 6 spot in Liverpool’s defense. Rice had an even better season for Arsenal than last one. Controlling games on his own, scoring, assisting and being a leader for a team. Then the next choices are debatable. I have Bruno Fernandes in my starting 11. It’s very hard to ignore Bruno with his contributions. Goals and Assists, being carry for Manchester United’s woeful season. I wonder where would they be without him. You can hate him, but you can’t ignore him. Cole Palmer is kinda weird case. Very strong 1st half of the season and very weak 2025. I think he still might get in, but overall his level dropped a lot. I think he may get in TOTS, due to his popularity and overall level of contributions to Chelsea’s season. Last choice is a bit hard. It’s between Morgan Gibbs-White and Elanga for Forest and Baleba from Brighton. I’d personally go with MGW, as he’s been very very consistent and good. They paid a lot for him and it paid out. Elanga good choice too. Shadow candidate – Alexis Mac Allister. Strong year for him, maybe not as many contributions, but very consistent and good performances.

Moving on to attack and it’s getting easier. Okay, easy choices first: Salah, because it’s Salah. Haland, because it’s Haland, Isak had very good year with Newcastle and Wood for his renaissance season with Forest. I don’t think any of these choices are debatable, all should be in. Then few choices from lower rated teams: Justin Kluyvert from Bournemouth found his form and improved a lot. He had a lot of hype in younger days, but couldn’t ever rise to that level and finally it’s happening. Iraola doing wonders. Mattheus Cunha saving Wolves and, despite his bad character on the pitch, he should be in TOTS some way. And last one would be Saka. Yeah, yeah, I know. He was injured since December, but until then he was Top 2 player in the league and still had loads of assists and goals. I think, if he’ll play in the last few games, he’d get few more G+A and that choice would look better.

Overall, very hard TOTS with a lot of debatable choices, we’ll see loads of discussions and everything. It’s understandable. So yeah, tell us your opinion!
