Hello and Welcome to POTM Predictions for Premier League for February. We had few very nice performances, so choosing POTM won’t be as easy as some months before, so let’s see what’s going on and who can we get.
First – there are some teams that played lesser games than others, so I ignored Brentford, even tho they had fantastic showing in 1st half of the month and didn’t lose a game. Newcastle also played lesser games, but they had worse performances, especially vs Liverpool.
So, let’s see who can we get.
Of course – Marcus Rashford is main favorite for an award. Another fantastic month for Rashford in his fantastic 2023. He scored in every game in Premier League in February: he scored 1 goal vs Crystal Palace in 2-1 win, 1 goal vs Leeds in 2-2 draw, 1 goal vs Leeds again in 2-0 win, 2 goals vs Leicester in 3-0 win. So yeah, Rashford probably should win award comfortably and get his…3rd POTM already. That’s very impressive and he’ll be expensive. Like very expensive. Let’s say he’ll be 88 – he’d be 300k, if he’s 89 – he’ll be around 350k or even more. Overall, he already has a similar card to this potential POTM – it’s his WC stories, but it’s 850k, so POTM should be a much better value.
Who else should get a nomination… I’d say that Bukayo Saka deserves a mention. Despite some bad Arsenal results (like a defeat vs Everton and City and draw vs Brentford) – Saka still produced 2 goals and 1 assist. He got an assist vs Brentford, 1 goal vs City in 3-1 loss and 1 goal vs Aston Villa. Not the brightest month for Bukayo, but still deserves nominee. If he’d win – he’d get pretty cheap POTM – he’d be 86 or so. Also I expect him to be around 60k or so. Just because he’s English and popular IRL.
Another Englishman who deserves a praise – Harry Kane. Harry had some good moments: he scored vs City in 1-0 win over them, got 1 assist in 2-0 win over Crystal Palace and scored a goal in 2-0 win over Chelsea. Same stats as Bukayo, so he should be nominated. If not him – then Emerson, who had an amazing month after Spurs signed Pedro Porro. Both players deserve praise and Spurs got closer to their goal of top 4 spot because of their performances. Kane’s card would be 91 and would be probably cheap 91 fodder, as he’d have a better WC card with same rating. Emerson would be cool 87 RWB with some nice stats for Prem. Emerson would be around 100k or so I guess.
Ollie Watkins and Kelechi Iheanacho both had wonderful month. Ollie went and scored in 4 games in a row. Even tho Aston Villa results weren’t really good (3 losses and 1 win vs Everton) – he was the best for them. 1 goal in each game should get him nomination. Sadly he didn’t have special cards this year yet, so POTM would be only 84 (maybe 86, if EA are generous). And he’d be really cheap. Expect not more than 30k for him if he wins. Actually I think if it wasn’t for Rashford’s performance – then Ollie would be a winner.
Kelechi had a good month too: 2 goals and 3 assists. Leicester no longer in relegation zone and 2 wins in 4 games certainly helped it. They won 4-2 vs Aston Villa and 4-1 vs Spurs, in which Kelechi got those goals and assists. Yeah he had 2 dry games vs United (3-0 defeat) and Arsenal (1-0 defeat), but that shouldn’t matter and he still should get nominated. He had an IF already, so if he wins POTM – he’d be 8687 rated card with some decent stats, but again – behind power curve. Would be 40-50k on the market, wouldn’t expect more for SBC.
And last but not least – man in form – Manor Solomon from Fulham. Man went and scored in 3 games in a row and most of those 3 goals were very good ones. Especially vs Wolves. Fulham went unbeaten this month and won 2 out of 4 games. Solomon scored in 34, so he should be nominated. Sadly his FUT card is rather bad and even big upgrades won’t help him. But still I should acknowledge his performance. If we’ll get an SBC – then it’d be around 20k.
So yeah, this is the end of the article – we should get 3rd Rashford POTM and it should be expensive. Sadly for Villa or Fulham fans – this game is against you and for your player it’s very hard to win deserved POTM award. Still, Rashford should be good SBC to dump fodder into.
