In FC25, EA will continue to build on the success of PlayStyles introduced in FC24. PlayStyles promote player individuality and authenticity and this year EA will be introducing 6 new Goalkeeper PlayStyles.
These new features will add more depth and realism to the game, allowing goalkeepers to have unique traits and specialized skills, the new PlayStyles are: Footwork, Rush Out, Deflector, Cross Claimer, Far Throw and Far Reach:
Footwork
Dynamic and nimble, a goalkeeper with the Footwork PlayStyle excels and getting a foot on low, hard shots before they can sneak past.
- Who Has It
- A goalkeeper who is known for using their feet to make difficult saves.
- Gameplay effects – PlayStyle
- Performs foot saves faster and with extended reach.
- Gameplay effects – PlayStyle+
- Performs foot saves more quickly with even greater reach.
Rush Out
Never afraid to challenge, these keepers love to play on the front foot, rushing out to take on attackers in 1-on-1 situations.

- A goalkeeper who is known to often challenge attackers head-on in 1v1 situations.
- Gameplay effects – PlayStyle
- Rush speed is increased and has an improved reaction speed to shots in rushing situations.

- Rush speed is greatly increased and has a faster reaction speed to shots in rushing situations.
Deflector
The Deflector doesn’t just know where the ball is, they know where everyone is, using that knowledge to push the ball away from dangerous areas.

- A goalkeeper who is known for having great deflection control to safer spaces.

- Performs deflection saves into safer areas with increased ball speed control.
- Gameplay effects – PlayStyle+
- Performs deflection saves into safer areas or towards free teammates with greater ball speed control.
Cross Claimer
Why wait for a cross to come to you when you can go to it? Cross Claimers love mucking it up, punching balls away before they can become a danger.

- A goalkeeper who is known to often come off the line to claim high balls from dangerous areas.
- Gameplay effects – PlayStyle
- Comes out to claim crosses with increased pace, increased awareness of the ball trajectory, and further punch reach with increased power.

- Comes out to claim crosses with greater pace, greater awareness of the ball trajectory, increased punch reach with greater power
Far Throw
Risk a deflection off a drop kick? Nah. I’m just gonna throw this ball 50 yards and really get that counter-attack started.

- A goalkeeper who is known for starting counter attacks with long throws.
- Gameplay effects – PlayStyle
- Able to perform throws with increased speed and distance.
- Gameplay effects – PlayStyle+
- Able to perform throws with greater speed and distance.
Far Reach
There are keepers who stretch for the ball, and then there are those who reach with everything they have, turning sure-fire goals into highlight reel saves. These aren’t leaks either, this is information I am allowed to share from the EA showcase I was given access to watch.
